Frequently asked questions

What time is Check in / out time?

Check in is from 3pm on the day of arrival.  Departure is by 10am on you final day.

When is the Swimming pool open?

Open every day apart from Saturday morning, when it is closed until 12pm, for cleaning.

What depth is the pool?

The pool is 1.25m deep the whole way along.  However there are large steps to access the pool, which are also good to sit on.

How warm is the pool?

The pool is kept between 26 – 28 Degrees Celsius.

Do you provide a welcome pack?

We supply an initial supply of tea bags, coffee and sugar and a pint of milk.  There is also salt and pepper in the kitchen as well as food wrap.  Washing up liquid, dishcloth and brush, tea towels and a small supply of dishwasher and washing machine tablets are also in the cottage.

Do you supply bedding?

All bedding is supplied for a cosy night’s sleep!

Do you supply towels?

Yes towels are provided for cottage use.  Please bring swimming pool / beach towels.  We do have a supply of pool towels should you need one.

Is there an enclosed field to let my dog off the lead in?

Dogs are welcome on leads around the cottages and animals.  However are welcome off the lead once away from the cottages and play area.  We have lots of walks around the farm.  Some of the fields may be empty of farm animals during your visit and we can let you know which would be suitable to let your dog off the lead in, if necessary.

Is there a pub in walking distance?

The nearest pubs are in Kingswear, about 2 miles away. The Steam Packet does great pizzas and The Ship also serves food.  They can be walked to, but it will be an uphill walk on the way back. Alternatively you could drive, which will take no more than 5 minutes!

Can we arrange a supermarket delivery?

Yes of course.  We ask that the delivery is made for after you arrive and in the same name as the booking name and the cottage is on the booking form.  This way we can help direct the delivery driver.  The supermarkets that deliver to here are Sainsburys, Tesco, ASDA and Morrisons.

Can we help feed the animals?

Absolutely.  We are around at most times and do write on a blackboard when we will be feeding the animals and bottle feeding the lambs during the spring.  You can also help collect eggs from the chickens.

Do you allow dogs in all your cottages?

We allow dogs in Hyssop, Lovage and Meadowsweet.  Chamomile is strictly pet free.  We ask dogs are not allowed upstairs.  If you go out for the day please take your dog with you. We do not allow dogs are not to be left in the cottages on their own.  A throw, dog bowl, towel and poo bags are provided for picking up after your dog.

Can we bring our friends back to the farm?

The Farm facilities are for clients to enjoy only. However we do make some exceptions, during the quieter months, if we have been asked in advance.

Coronavirus update

We are closed until the end of June at the current time, but this may be extended depending on government advice.  We are taking bookings for next year and later this year and people can email us if they would like more information.
