We suggest you drive to Paignton and catch the steam train to Kingswear, through the countryside and past hidden coves! When you arrive in Kingswear jump on the ferry to Dartmouth and enjoy the historic town for a few hours before heading back on the train to Paignton. Wow! A day visit that is well worth it. Great viewing and spacious enclosures. Meet the giraffes and walk through the monkey enclosure, an experience you won’t forget! There’s a full day of entertainment to be had a Woodlands Adventure Par! From a massive indoor play area, to crazy golf and waterslides. Once you have paid your entry everything else is included, apart from food. We suggest you take a picnic and sit in the grounds to recharge so you escape the long queues at the food kiosks. Take a change of clothes in the summer when the water slides are open, you will get splashed. Step back in time and board the Victorian cliff train down to Babbacombe Beach. A great beach for building sand castles. There is also a cafe if you get a bit hungry. Book onto a Kents Cavern tour and step back into a hidden history. In a surprising location you find the homes of ancient humans and explore the labyrinth of hidden caves containing stalagmites and stalactites. Half a day trip suitable for the whole family. The village portrays English life and culture over the last 6 decades and is sure to bring to life those childhood memories! Pennywell Farm is a perfect day out for the whole family. There’s a different animal activity, show or display every half an hour, and plenty of friendly animals and rides for everyone to enjoy. Right next door to one another this is a perfect day trip. Catch the train from Totnes to Buckfastleigh and then watch the otters play and butterflies dance. Visit the otters during a feeding session and they will be awake and running around, otherwise they maybe asleep! Just on the outskirts of the moor and on the edge of the river Dart, this park is great for walking and for riding bikes. Activities from climbing, high ropes course, swimming in the lake, zorbing, zip wires and various off road biking tracks for little ones to those for the more experienced rider. Play areas keep the children entertained and it is a guaranteed place to wear the children out, ready for a good nights sleep!!
